Duro Wiper Ltd was pleased to welcome a visit from the third most powerful person in the UK, Mr Michael Fallon Secretary of State for Defence.
The Conservative politician visited Stonehouse-based manufacturing company Duro Wipers to show his support for the firm and to see how it produces high performance window wipers for the marine industries.
Mr Fallon was shown around the Oldends Lane factory, and met staff including apprentices, who can make any kind of windscreen wiper to order.
He was keen to learn what was so special about Duro Wipers and the patented transfer box which transfers the power from the motor to the two spindles equally meaning both spindles drive unlike any other marine wiper in the World. This manifest into a smooth, quiet and powerful maintenance free performance which they believe will last the lifetime of the vessel.
